HTC smartphones aimed at the high end segment of the HTC has a pretty good popularity . The rest , the other high end products do not have HTC’s good performance in the market . It also attracted the attention of the Taiwanese government , especially the Ministry of Finance .
In a statement quoted by Phonearena , Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance to see that HTC’s high end devices like the HTC mini , HTC and HTC Butterfly S Max is not so sold on the market . As a result , in the third quarter of 2013 , HTC had to bear the loss . They also assume that the conditions of the high end market is currently in a state of saturated and dominated by smartphones like the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S .
Therefore , the Ministry of Finance also suggested that HTC be more active in launching products aimed at the middle to lower segments . In this case the model is Desire . With the increased focus on the second segment of the market , the Taiwanese government believes that HTC will be able to obtain better performance in the fourth quarter .
